Don’t see how you could commission something that specific (and expensive) purely for personal use that never rears it’s head in public.

Yeah, that’s why I’m wondering if there was an entirely different album that he shelved (besides maybe a few songs) and instead focused on GNX to better capture the zeitgeist.

One of the reasons I’m doubtful of there being another, entirely separate album is that Kendrick’s discography operates in a very clear, linear fashion, reflecting specific periods of his life at that point in time, s***’s different for him now than it was even a year ago, so that album, if it exists or existed, could feel irrelevant to him now personally.
