I think it’s reasonable to have Kendrick in your top 3 lyrically

Who else is writing songs like Reincarnated?

I feel like tryna have an objective “most lyrical” discussion is never gonna work anyway.

Most of the niggas I know don’t consider 2Pac a top lyricist cuz of the NY east coast bias we grew up with where we care about the density of rhymes and how they’re structured.

I personally consider him one because of how strong the words resonate as opposed to how many punchlines and quotables he can fit in a 16

Plus it also really just comes down to who you feel more conveying the words

Lyrics matter of course, but delivery is what gets people hooked and what turns them into fans.

Roc Marciano would put the most random punchlines in it tho.

Nigga a say some s*** like

“We hid the work in her uterus she wasn’t used to us” then do a “Marcccc niggaaaa” adlib

    Exactly

And that’s the #1 issue I see casuals have with Dot and why they choose Cole and Drake over him. They don’t like it when he messes with his delivery.

Why some choose those 2 over him.

Nav is probably the only one who even comes close to Kendrick’s writing tbh but Nav could make Reincarnated. Kendrick can’t make Vetement Socks

Which is crazy cuz I’ve hated Cole’s delivery for years lmaooo

Drake turned monotone but he at least used to be fun

Cacs would get offended over this, but he’s referring to white as an attitude, not a skin color.

And it’s definitely a thing that Andrew embodies.

Go ahead and gimme some examples of the best written hip hop songs oat

you cant be serious. Do you comprehend that I am applauding the song but saying Kendrick is not the top 3 for me writing or lyrically but is simply more accessible than many people you do not know?

Boldy James has him beat lyrically easily this year.

Story telling obviously I have Lupe way over Kendrick on many many songs. Immortal technique but that is highly inaccessible to most. Aesop Rock lyrically again clears

it may not be a delight to your ears but to mine it is

I have a wide palette though many of yall on here are kind of limited and solely listen based on what complex or radio feeds you. I grew up on cds from the libary than soundcloud scouting and seeing shows in person

The craziest part to me is if I ran many of these rappers through an Kendrick AI filter yall would be like "WOW MY GOAT DID IT AGAIN OMG THE GREATEST" yall are more attached to the voice and the character sometimes the "omg his aura" than the actual rapping

as crazy as yall talk to me you dont realizie rap is my everything thats why I write and nerd out and get embarassed for yall for your myopic views of the genre

Yea it’s why some of the niggas that get hailed as the best bar for bar lyricist don’t be moving me sometimes cuz they be having no flavor with it lmao
