Corny ass niggas went from “soon as you body sum they be singing like they DRAKE” & “Hotline Bling don’t get no bing up in this new wraith” to “Keke do you loveeeeee me” in less than 3 years.

    I hate this f***ing city dawg 😭😭😭😭😭😭

A part of me feels like they partially backed him as hard as they did because Control put them in their feeling’s permanently.

They still salty about that verse 11 years later.

    Absolutely.

When Kendrick was rapping over Mos Def beats and s*** early in his career LA still jacked him as a west coast nigga.

Bro made a song literally called West Coast Wu Tang where he rapped in the style of the clan and the West knew what it was with bro.

Nigga quite literally did some east coast styled s*** on 6:16 in LA

Meanwhile our OGs over here in NY mad at Rocky just cuz he was calling himself trill and wearing grills.

We deserve the fall from grace cuz niggas was too busy beefing with each other to see the bigger picture

Hate to say it but I wholeheartedly believe the East Coast taking Drake under our wing/claiming him as one of us killed our steam even more. Like dude’s a whole ass Canadian lol…who jacks ATL, Houston, Memphis, and the UK. Why is he a “staple” in our scene?

It’s even more infuriating seeing Philly niggas d***ride him, especially after the whole Meek fued.

One thing I will say. It is absolutely crazy that after 15 years of a Canadian being at the top of the rap game, there still is absolutely no “Toronto sound” in rap music to speak of whatsoever.

People always point to the dark R&B underwater sound, and sure, that does exist and definitely belongs to Toronto, but it’s not a rap sound at all.

A big reason why Kendrick won is because he got his city behind him and dropped an anthem for that region. There is literally no “Toronto region” in the rap landscape whatsoever

The two biggest names from Toronto rap be spitting like east coast niggas.

Tory dead be rapping like 2004 Cassidy and s*** and on top of that Tory doesn’t even have a definitive sound of his own in general imo

He must’ve heard Movie from Blue Lips.

Such a good song, it should’ve had a Q verse though!

AZ Chike is fire. Definitely has star potential.

Yeah Tory’s entire career is just Drake and The Weeknd. He never carved out a signature lane for himself at all

Drake had a bigger impact on the r&b sound than hiphop.

Dot putting a bunch of songs in the top 10 first week is impressive

Buts what’s really impressive is that 3 songs are still in the top 10 after 2 weeks.

People are really listening to this album fr. It didn’t just come and go.

I can't remember which song but it was a track with either Meek Mill or Freddie Gibbs that Tory did where I thought he was Travis Scott till I saw the credits

I respect it for letting the homie eat cuz he bodied it but I don’t agree with it. Because that song was too hard to be as short as it was.

When CLB dropped, 5 of its’ songs debuted in the Top 5 (and 9 of its’ songs debuted in the Top 10)
