Dody6 and Dot were equal on Hey Now. Dot spit fire on that song and Dody6 complimented it really well. Especially after the beat buildup went back to the minimal sound. chefs kiss

So downtempo in the first act is crazy but it works

Bro no disrespect I hope you don’t take this the wrong way but like that’s your opinion, Vol 2 is quite literally Hovs highest selling album and s*** if not one of them. We can say that Blueprint is what elevated Hov but that’s not what happened. Is Blueprint the better album? Absolutely but peep this.

When I say Volume 2 elevated Hov I mean that quite literally. That album is what caused everybody to stop looking at Jay as Biggies little mans and start looking at him as his own artist.

Volume 1 is my fave out that little series but it didn’t get its proper respect until years later

By the time Blueprint 1 came out Jay was already a commercial juggernaut with mad singles under his belt which is why he felt so comfortable with trying to little bro Nas and Mobb Deep.

I wouldn’t call Hey Now downtempo but your point is still valid
