Man instead of converting streams to equivalent physical album sales we should be converting physical album sales to equivalent streams when necessary and just go off the streaming number, either that or keep them separate

Streaming is the dominant way that people consume music and most projects don’t even get physicals. I like how “358 Million Streams” sounds better than “350k units”. S*** is dumb and doesn’t reflect the amount of people actually listening

The way they remix and expand the OG beats on reincarnated and heart 6 is so crazy. Start off just the OG instrumentals and then slowly they lace in new layers on top and it lets them drop the OG elements for impact on certain lines and keep the beat building and evolving. Not sure if I’ve ever really heard s*** like that. Mix of straight rapping over beats mixtape style and lacing instruments over samples Kanye style

I truly believe that’s the work of Jack Antonoff. It’s amazing how he linked him with producers like Sounwave and Mustard, and even more so that they didn’t let their egos get in the way of creating timeless music. You can tell he gave songs that extra juice, like the wavy ass synths in Squabble Up

I think it’s ai. But good ai. Sounds like used ai stem separators on the original songs. You can hear the original vocals filter artefacts a little bit on heart 6. And then they also separated the drums because they use them by themselves on reincarnated

100% his extra layers on squabble up are so good. The synths feel straight from the era the sample is from and add so many flourishes that you don’t really notice. Also small acoustic guitar layers panned left and right on heart 6. They should keep him around as part of the in house team tbh
