Does the last verse on reincarnated sound like Kendrick almost going back on being the “savior”
He never stopped being the saviour
Peekaboo just has that goofy humorous west coast type feel to the song that makes it too catchy to skip
GNX beat is proper off kilter and the young threat was abit of a meh verse. Rest i liked though
Top 3:
TV Off
Reincarnated
Heart part 6
don't understand the hate that luther is getting. kendrick and sza have such great chemistry with each other on it
Peekaboo hate doens make sense to me
Nah that one’s flames all around, might be top 4
Despite “fuck a double entendre I want yall to feel this s***”, the amount of quotables throughout is legitimately insane
I feel like, counter intuitively, quotables and better verses sometimes come easier when you stop stressing over the verses so much and trying so hard.
Like, he’s undeniably trying, and that’s good, but he isn’t stressing over every single lyric to make it all tie in, have entendres, etc. and I think that is actually contributing really well to how good this album is.
At least in my experience, when I would try to write verses with the pressure of “this is going on the album” and try to make them super lyrical as a result, I would have a hard and frustrating time and I think the verses ended out worse.
I’m focusing on singing and beat making right now, but if/when I eventually get back to rapping I am definitely trying the “content first, flow second, lyrics third” approach and relaxing the technical lyricism

I think the type of song it is isolates some of those reddit type stans who dont wanna hear the lovey vibey s***
But he always been doing these kind of songs, Alien Girl being an early example
He wrote a whole simp track for Beyonce ffs

I'm cool on Kendrick singing tracks and not the biggest fan of SZA anymore
It’s the best song he’s made in that lane
100% agreed. Alien Girl is second for me, LOVE is good but Zacari’s vocals is what really makes the song

Yeah I definitely agree overall. Nigga just displayed the head of his main opp in front of the world to see, that feeling combined with the California sound resulted in that energy. It’s funny how Reincarnated is the most concept heavy song, yet with the hardest hitting 2pac style
Holy f*** that drake caption is bad
Im a drake defender but thats crazy
