Wait, hollon, I could've sworn Drake had like at least 2 diamond albums now if not three. Just going off the headline. I'm not making this a Drake vs Kendrick thing, just curious
What album would it honestly be outside of Take Care lol

Stacking hits as opposed to cohesive albums never reflects well on a legacy. Arguably the flaw of Jay-Z’s worser albums and why Kanye’s discography clears Jay’s
by far his worst album
Also this lmao
Could never really get into it and never understood when people tried to parallel this to Graduation

I mean let’s be real about this s*** like 60% of Jays discog is ass (I’m not downplaying his rapping abilities before you stans get on my d***). So that’s not difficult to do
At this rate tho Kanye will be caught up to him very soon
Just want to say (and I edited in op) to make clear, GKMC got officially certified as Diamond in January of 2026 but became eligible in November 2025
Damn is now eligible since about a week ago. They will prob officially cert it within the next few months.

Kendrick hasn’t updated his certifications since Section 80 went Platinum this year.
He hasn’t done a huge update since 2018. He’s gonna shake some s*** up when he does though

Ye is better but clears is a lot especially now
Jay got classics and Ye’s worst are way worse than Hov’s worse

This a crazy take bro ngl lol
seen someone say that it "aged badly"
It did, it’s Pop Rap for that year lol
I’m a big KDot fan since the early mixtape days and it still surprises me now how well his music performs commercially considering the fact that he doesn’t chase stereotypical mainstream sounds.
Bro accomplished what a lot of great lyrical rappers couldn’t: make commercially appealing hip hop without abandoning substance and introspective themes.

I mean that's the perspective of nerds, not the average listener, especially in this climate.
Juice WRLD's a guy who on this very forum got tons of s*** for all his albums sounding like he was just saying whatever came to mind on a song, and that all his songs on DRFL sounded slapped together / rushed, but his legacy is far bigger than people expected at the time
i wouldn't be surprised if Drake and Jay are still undisputed legends in the game far after they're gone
Same way someone like Kendrick or Nas will
Heard Mr morale is 2 copies away from diamond
Just gotta sit through We Cry Together and Auntie Diaries

@raps
Views is close
people will say I'm a hater but I love Drake's music.
i'm not gonna lie though, as he has always tended to make very long albums, the older albums are carried by the hits in terms of consumption
vs an artist like Kendrick who tends to make shorter yet thematically dense bodies of work that you are driven to consume in whole

I also think creatively, akin to a less dark version of DMX's tragic path, Drake's early run and hunger for dominance took a lot out of him, and while commercially it paid off, artistically, you can hear the point where he kinda ran out of road.
