All this talk reminded me we need some new pglang signees
nah they gonna start selling unreleased kendrick music like the last guy (allegedly)
u prob right lmao. no idea she was already well known since i don't really listen to her
Lmao I feel you
All this talk reminded me we need some new pglang signees
Would rather they develop who is on the roster before signing a bunch of brand new talent. I think TDE dipped when they started signing artists left and right without really developing them

Tanna leone an idiot man
And I was starting to fw some of his songs too
nah, he needs to be like the 6 God and have the same people appear on each album (Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, etc..)
Or hop on a new artists major wave for us to notice he helps new artists
I would take summer walker out but exactly lol
If we counting putting Frank on Yeezus as “platforming” then why not
Bro already dropped Channel Orange at that point

Reason was a low point
Reason was a low point
That period after Zay and sza was dark for tde

now we talking. If that’s the case then Jhené on the intro of OD and SZA on All the Stars. Nigga made the wrong comparison and now he quiet
Or hop on a new artists major wave for us to notice he helps new artists
then throw them away once he has no more use of them
All this talk reminded me we need some new pglang signees
Absolutely. They should pick up Marco plus and Asha Imuno.
I’d say 454 but I think my nigga will forever be independent
That period after Zay and sza was dark for tde
I feel like they were just going through their transition to developing the new regime led by Doechii, Devin Malik and Rayvaughn. I think they thought Zac was gone blow like SZA after Love so I think they were leaning into R&B with him, SZA, Skiiwalker and Sir until they realized hold up, let’s reel it back in and now they balancing everything well
That period after Zay and sza was dark for tde
Yup. SiR is the highlight until Doechii who looks like she could be on a star trajectory, but everybody else seems to be struggling to make a name for themselves (Devin Malik too new to say this about though I have hope for him)
Because artists control how their art is perceived amirite?
Public Enemy “fight the power” is part of academia, guess that means they wasn’t radical amirite?
not what I meant. I mean I'm literally arguing that the album should be taken serious as a political statement
I mean as a white suburban dude I can say that the album directly inspired me to reflect on how political hip hop is and in turn studying the history of racism in US more, which in turn lead me to reflect on racism in Germany, postcolonial theory, bell hooks, etc down the line.
but the fact that there's so many bachelors and masters on "TPAB and racism" and it being the #1 album of all time on predominantly white suburban userbase of RYM does make you think that maybe the message was too simple to digest or even this white guilt giving a weird form of comfort rather than getting ppl out of their comfort zone (which I think you could define as the stated goal of political art)
it's not that reception defines the art but it can often tell you a lot about what it offered to ppl and also the shortcomings of it. like I dunno what does it say about Wolf of Wall Street that it inspired a whole generation of stupid capitalists, I think it's a great film but it clearly worked against its own message too. it's def a very complex relationship but still one worth thinking about imo

bro could have got a major bag if he was smart but decided to be stupid (allegedly)
now he too busy trying to add uncleared kendrick verses to songs

Devin’s project was solid this year, his production really the thing that stood out to me
I THINK THE PARTY JUST
DIED

Wonder if this is honestly what’s making PGlang hesitant on signing mfs.
Like Tanna literally got to open for Kendrick and keems world tour, got a feature of Kendrick’s album.
And still ended up allegedly leaking s***.

Facts, glad they got Doechii this time around tho

For sure. Bland as hell as a rapper but his production is crazy
Bruh you got so many niggas clipped in one week
As a huge Drake fan the pendulum always swings
