Being a longtime Pac fan (high school i got that book for a birthday where it’s all his notes in it), it just showed how vastly different them 2 were and not in the best way.

Pac talking bout niggas eatinf the rich and how it’s gon be bloodshed and Dot saying “I think all we got left is just the music and good vibes” when it’s like…historically music ITSELF has never changed the world or the society living in it.

Kendrick just had an idealistic way that…admittedly as an artist, a LOT of artists through time and time for decades have had. And it’s not their fault, it’s literally just all they know.
it’s such a painful and depressing feeling when you realize it’s not that simple.

The 70s peace and flower movement sounds cool but what did it really do? When a lot of those hippies turned into the people they were protesting against?

That’s why Nina Simone got mentally f***ed up. That realization will eat you up (DAMN) if you don’t start trying to mentally deal with the trauma that one man can’t change the world and that disappointment and heartache manifesting itself in different harmful ways (Mr. Morale)

That’s why i like this song. People looking at it as “oh savior complex again” just probably havent felt the way he’s felt about the culture. It’s just a rant. A beautifully worded one, but it’s a rant.
