He stumbles for sure sometimes but has his blackness fallen into question before?
I'm tryna think, maybe during the Noname s***?? Lol

Been listening to Cole since The Warm Up dropped and don’t recall him ever being questioned in that regard

The dude I was talking to said Drake being light skin empowered dot to say that last line on euphoria but I don't think that's a 1:1 with the noname incident

“What do the braids say to you?” - Skip Bayless
all i can think of is how beautiful and surrow that sample is. been humming that melody nonstop
who produced it after all ?
How do people think that's a mistake? Isn't that basically just Euphoria s/o or am I missing something? I don't follow the UFC

Sounwave, Jack Antonoff, Pasqué and Anca Trio Plus One according to Genius
Does have a similar vibe to 6:16 in LA so Sounwave & Jack Antonoff for sure
@RedEyeJedi how come J Cole doesn't face the same bullshit but he's light skinned
This the same as me bringing up Wayne and Kanye not being told they can't say it
I've said it's a combination of both, do you think "We don't wanna hear you say nigga no more" would connect as hard if Drake had the same complexion as Kendrick?
I understand why Kendrick said it. It's just low hanging fruit and him acknowledging that doesn't change that he said it. This is just my opinion of the lines. Y'all not convincing me to change it because y'all not really telling me anything new. I'm fully aware of the history, I brought up the video of Drake pronouncing it before it was posted
About Cole - Drake has similar features. Both have a white and a black parent. Logic does too. Nobody would question Drake and Cole saying it but they would Logic. Do you think that would change if Logic made TPAB? Saying the word has never been about uplifting the black community, Idk why y'all acting like it's JUST because Drake doesn't make music about black issues
I might be a psychopath cuz the "niggas like him should DIE" in MTG gets me every time lmaooo
6:16 my fave tho
nah im ngl meet the grahams def has a real subtle undercurrent of dark humor in it, idk if it’s intentional or if we’re just f***ed up
”You raised a horrible f***ing person, the nerve of you Dennis” with that evil ass delivery he had on there and then he turns back to Sandra
s*** sounds like an audio backslap
What has Kendrick actually done for black people? I don't feel like Kendrick has done anything for black people to hail him so much outside of being an incredibly talented artist. Does rapping about racism, personal issues and his experiences in Compton on every single album actually do anything for black people? We're running around in circles doing nothing to change our circumstances as a race and you think this man receiving a Pulitzer prize and performing at a Super Bowl is helping an entire race of people? Is the "culture" of black people limited to those who grew up in ghettos?

Lol dawg, all I asked was: when was the last time that Drake engaged with his blackness in a positive light on wax?
Idc that Drake doesn't make music about black related issues. He found his lane, and not everyone needs to be a Black Thought, but if that's the case, then Drake sending subs like the "Fake woke fake deep" line on the Uzi leak is him just begging for that conversation at that point, so let's not act like the line on euphoria came outta nowhere because that would be disingenuous. If you aren't aware of that Uzi leak (At The Gates), then my bad, but Drake is the one who started the fake black Messiah s***, even all the way back in 2015 on Game's "100" song
And also, I'm not sure what the point is in dealing with hypotheticals like "If Drake was dark skinned, the line wouldn't hit as hard." He's not. He's biracial, just like Cole. I'd even argue that Drake being light skinned is just as much of an advantage as it is a point of contention. Obviously, it doesn't take away from his musical accomplishments: He's been on top for 15 years for a reason, and his music has a wider appeal than Cole's.
