Common has plenty of songs calling out industry

No one ever said he the chosen one and rap nothing without him that’s all I’m against we have to save ourselves

Fs never sleepin on Common but to me that story showed me people view what it is to be a revolutionary differently. You can make songs calling out the industry and still play ball Not putting that on Common but just in general.

I do think there are artist that genuinely want to make music that makes a difference and reaches people but it comes wit a price when you are not only successful amongst listeners but also when Metrics and money get involved

Most musicians cant be revolutionaries, too idealistic. You cant change society through music, but action you can.

Louis Armstrong got used as a cia trojan horse to spy on patrice lumumba.

If it was so easy for musicians to change the world man

The industry already co-opted by evil. Even people wit genuine intentions can get caught up in it

I didn’t ask because I knew that because the sample clearance nor does that invalidate my point that artist creators snd streamers had fair use even after the songs came to streaming

You left out the part where UMG hit strikes on the streamers after a week of reactions. This is what everybody was saying lol

    2pac was ….

Pac died too young to really mature into being a revolutionary. It was def in his DNA and he had the power too but again he was another causality to the bullshit. Being a “man of the people” and running in circles wit real gangsters.
