You part of the problem unc 😹
This song is infinitely more disturbing than Meet The Grahams.
The closest thing from his catalogue I can compare this one to is The Heart Part IV. Kendrick sounds boastful in his delivery, gloating at the fact that he'll "have the industry on an ice pack". For "Watch The Party Die", he sounds like he's trying his best to restrain a BLAZING anger in his voice.
Kendrick Lamar's cadence as a rapper has improved so much over the last few years, if that's even possible for an artist of his caliber. I can feel a fury bubbling in his throat when he delivers his verses, a fury akin to an enraged deity watching over the beings below Him. And that comparison might not be a stretch when you look at Dot's position in the rap game; Kendrick Lamar currently owns the culture.
He singlehandedly killed off the embodiment of his issues the industry is plagued with. He believes he has the ball at his feet and can alter the landscape of rap culture.
His approach in lyrics is what gets me perturbed.
"Burn a whole village, we start over, it's really that time."
"If you parade in gluttony without givin' truth to the youth
The graveyard is company, just tell us what casket to choose"
"I need they families mortified
We can do life without 'em, get they bodies organized, tell me if you obliged"
Jesus. Dot's violent imagery paired with this quiet, tranquil instrumental is like greeting a psychopath who appears human on the surface but is capable of dreadful acts when the right buttons are pushed. He talks about getting someone's head cracked a few lines afterwards. He says "I want agony", and Kendrick's delivery feeds into his content.
He sounds like he'd take so much pleasure in watching that. It's typically a God that would "see a new Earth
Filled with beautiful people makin' humanity work", and flood the beings He deems unnecessary to reach that end point. Deliver a plague unto them, take the lives of their first born children. Kill the DJ Vlad's, the Adam22's and especially DJ Akademiks; then the culture will come to a reset.
We can have a point in the industry where the consumer is only concerned with the music and not the musician's life. Where the consumers can be more than popular faces and internet personalities. We want people that take great interest in keeping the culture "healthy". Where quality, well thought-out music is prioritized above the ocean of bubblegum bullshit. Where we have true LOVERS of the culture who can see its true potential.
The only way to approach that kind of utopia for rap culture... is violence.
The question now becomes... is He a hypocrite of some sort?
Because what kind of spiritual man writes a song using God to wish harm on people? But then again, he made Mr. Morale to hammer into our heads that he's not our saviour... but then what is he? Is he still a Mortal Man?? That's not what I get from this. That's not how He chooses to portray himself. A God wouldn't hesitate to drop blood, even if it belonged to the most innocent.
Maybe God gave us war and violence to wage upon each other and there's never been a concept of morality. It's only a question of "who's violence is greater than the rest?" "Who's violence can conquer Kendrick's violence?"
Just something I was thinking about. Thank you for your time, my dear reader.

We are losing the plot, KTT2. What happened to calling Targets or harassing Apple Music employees? What happened to the game I loved?
I wouldn't get my hopes up for a midnight release tonight but definitely think a song or something is dropping at some point tomorrow
