Pretentiousness isn’t simply about being above all of it, it’s about whether or not it’s a correct measure of your importance
For someone like Kendrick, he is correctly measuring his importance
And yes he is at odds with the industry and yes he is forced to do things like negotiate with Live Nation and UMG and the NFL to do the things that he wants to do as a rapper
