Say less ski
Your heart wasn’t in a bad place, you were participating in an exciting artistic time for a lot of young fans. We all fall for the insidious parts of entertainment industries that we engage in and don’t realize it at the time
And it’s also good that you’re reflecting and questioning
so this is a drake diss according to the stans right?
where he didn't mention anything specific to drake... his name/family/friends/music/labels etc etc right?
so what you're actually saying is a song where someone is described as gluttonous, insecure, money waving, deserving to die, and just in general a terrible influence to the world...
....it must be talking about drake
do you even hear yourselves...
you're basically recognising those traits without direct reference, you're hearing someone describe an a****** and the first person on your mind is drake...
Was gonna hit them with that s*** later in the day
I’m over playing the numbers games
Remember when they were bragging about genius numbers
Both sides are over doing it .its light
Wdym, it isn’t a diss whos overdoing what
Only active rappers I can semi see him dissing are Sean, Game & Lupe
Could see him dissing 50, Cam, Mase, Fat Joe, Gillie, Flex (I'm guessing this is the radio personality he's talking about), Jay Elec, probably nameless Label Execs but all of them either arent rappers or aren't active
Beyond that, idk man
see, none of these people are important enough to go after in my opinion
For all the good music and innovation that the 2010’s had, it was pretty bad in terms of exactly what rap as a culture was pushing yfm
The sound got gentrified for the back half of the decade, label heads were pushing/abusing self destructive loose cannons who needed help over artists pushing messages. A lot of the passion and intricacies were lost in the vapid and easy to reproduce SoundCloud era. A lot of vain and shallow imagery was sold to anyone who wanted it, including the c***kids
Once again, not a diss to the innovation and music itself of the time, but the industry and wider cultural trends of the time.
Oh yeah it's actually kinda funny you bring this up cuz I was thinking about this during a walk earlier today.
I romanticize the 2014-2015 era but it directly led to the soundcloud era which has led to what we got today.
That vain / shallow imagery with some of our fave acts from that era deff led to stuff like Ian popping up (i don't hate that kid but he's a good example)

Listen to the song then come back

This LL Cool J album had me REALLY in my own head about that s*** too because a 50 ur old guy was outpacing basically all the rap releases this year
good track but with most his recent stuff you are good after one listen
dude would be a great column writer for real

They can’t have a quality talk. It has to all be quantitative.
He isn’t going to diss Lupe
Lupe is the exact lame nigga Kendrick is talking about.
Didn’t forget y’all celebrating the 100 S***s songs having almost a million views each on IG. Flopping left and right
They were celebrating genius numbers before Euphoria came out, they'll just act like it never happened as usual
Exactly

To be fair, LL Cool J isn't just some 50 year old guy. He's a GOAT, responsible for a lot of s*** that came after him but I see what you mean
I'm actually about to check the Cool J album out now cuz I didn't know it dropped lol

I remember they were posting a Complex poll then the same poll had Kendrick winning like 70% to 30% then they said that s*** didn’t matter
Lupe is the exact lame nigga Kendrick is talking about.
bruh please don't get this started in here cuz it will go another 50 pages and go off topic until someone is banned
