Kendrick posted the song on IG because he knows NLU was his last number 1 in a long time.

The game has really been headed in a terrible direction from all angles: cultural, infrastructural, artistic, economic, moral. Powers in position are taking advantage, figures who hold power are pushing questionable agendas to the youth in order to keep it

For all the good music and innovation that the 2010’s had, it was pretty bad in terms of exactly what rap as a culture was pushing yfm
The sound got gentrified for the back half of the decade, label heads were pushing/abusing self destructive loose cannons who needed help over artists pushing messages. A lot of the passion and intricacies were lost in the vapid and easy to reproduce SoundCloud era. A lot of vain and shallow imagery was sold to anyone who wanted it, including the c***kids
Once again, not a diss to the innovation and music itself of the time, but the industry and wider cultural trends of the time.
The game has really been headed in a terrible direction from all angles: cultural, infrastructural, artistic, economic, moral. Powers in position are taking advantage, figures who hold power are pushing questionable agendas to the youth in order to keep it
I remember saying all this in 2015 when mumble rap started taking over.
It was obvious if we put this s*** at the forefront of the genre it will basically spell the end of HipHop.
Now when we have artists that are all hype all gimmicks all violence all debauchery and no substance, people wonder why HipHop is rightfully on a decline.
