If Drake made something like Big Steppers it wouldn’t sell 💯 that’s why he scared to take risks

Drake wouldn’t make an album as boring as big steppers

Streams picked up though plus no legit single

A lot of that drop comes from just changes in the market not necessarily an indicator of popularity changing

Yeah, i dont think its bad numbers, just dont think its great numbers for kendrick either

  • May 14, 2022

    Told y’all he wasn’t doing 400k.

Doing basically Donda numbers makes sense for Kendrick though. That’s the limit for everyone but Drake.

I think it all boils down to how much the listener enjoys the album. A shorter album works better if the tracks have great replay value because that means it will likely get played more times than an album with more tracks, which in most cases, even if it's enjoyable, will be a lot of work for most people to run back several times a day.

Yea true but I think for first week when most listens are just gonna be a first listen that number of songs is the major one

As time goes on - even just later in the first week that matters more

    Disagree
I think it does have an impact but I think the majority of consumers don’t even put on album on replay

Long term song length has a big impact but I think short term number of tracks is more of a facotr

Well people consume music in the time they have. On their commute to work, in the gym, on a walk, etc. They press play when they start and stop when they're done. Sitting down to listen to an entire album I think is uncommon consumption.

So if you have a 40 minute commute and press play on an album where every song is 4 min, that's 10 streams counted towards billboard once you're done. If every song is 5 min that's only 8.
