When DAMN. did numbers, it was because Kendrick was the GOAT and was the biggest rapper and his commercial success was finally catching up to his acclaim and they all swore his next album after that — regardless of what it was, would smash everything out of the water. I guess that's not the case.
Also, Kendrick's album should do massive numbers in it's first week just off his name/supposed hype alone. Example: J. Cole dropped his best album in 2014 FHD and followed it up with the snooze fest that is 4 Your Eyez Only but that album debuted with 492k off the hype of 2014 FHD alone.

This is goal post shifting from the 500k predictions this site was throwing out the past month
I can’t speak for the entire site, but I always said it was gonna sell between 350K-400K. And yes, those are great sales for an album that isn’t as assessable for casuals and “the outside”.
