seems the reality is the average Drake fan doesn't even want actual rap like that, they want songs like God's Plan, One Dance, Nice for What, In My Feelings. Drake's fanbase is mostly casual
it's why DLDT flopped (even longterm), it's why CLB isn't doing that great (still decent) and it's why this isn't gonna do well either since there's nothing clear like that

We saw which one of those two shifted the musical landscape, and had everyone switch up.
Give it time, they’ll catch up to this album.
