I have no leg in this fight
but all the Kendrick stan’s will blow this forum up if it happens.
Personally I think it might sell over Kendrick’s album because it feels like the whole world is tuned in other than America.
And the whole world is much bigger than America
The point of my post is that we've already compared two albums between Drake/Kendrick together, so why should another Drake album still get compared to the same Kendrick album that just got compared to CLB?
If anything, people should post what they personally feel would be a L for the new Drake album. I think anything above 200k will be a W for the album because: it's coming just 9 months after CLB, it's a whole album on a sound/style Drake has never dived into before + it was announced just 6 hours prior to dropping. If it was a rap album/mixtape, my projections would be higher.
What do you think he will do divine
Idk but anything above 200k is a W to me.

You know Kendrick is getting a second chance that Drake wouldn't get because he's not Drake. There's always been a double standard when it comes to Drake vs how we treat everyone else. But just think about what they're really saying by this new comparison. A Kendrick hip-hop album could never compete with a Drake hip-hop album so we have to compare it to a Drake House album. That says a lot of what they think of Kendrick's place in rap
Coping before projections is insane. Just wait until tomorrow. He could randomly do 500k you never know.

Like it's really pathetic to me. It's a reason why we didn't compare MMATBS to DLDT lol. We compared it to CLB because that was Drake's first studio album since Scorpion, same as MMATBS was Kendrick's first studio album since DAMN. but now we should compare a surprise Drake dance album — a sound thats totally alienated most of his fanbase, to Kendrick's highly-anticipated first rap studio album in 5 years? Why? Even if the Drake album ends up outselling Kendrick's album, that comparison makes 0 sense to me lol.

You need to learn what cope means before you try using it in a sentence
Using logic and reason =/= coping

He won't. Album basically has like 13 tracks. CLB had like 8 more songs and is what was actually anticipated by fans. Y'all just wanna be able to scream that this album is an L lmao.
Imagine caring about sales to the point you are willing to make an excuse for a comparison between two drastically different albums.

Oh the irony
“Why would we compare Kendrick and Drake albums that released 1 month apart”
You have the common sense to understand why comparing both albums makes zero sense. I'll give you the chance to figure out why.
So, if Drake goes away for 5 years and drops a new rap album and 1 month later, Kendrick drops a death metal album as a surprise, we should compare both because they dropped close to each other? 🤔

You act like this is uncharted territory for Drake. He’s made multi platinum songs that would sound right at home on this album.
Nothing wrong with comparing their latest albums sales. I’m sorry you can’t use the playlist excuse for this one.
But like I said, wait until tomorrow. Never underestimate Drake.
You niggas can't even stand on your own sales rhetoric. When kendrick and whoever else yall hate comes in under an imaginary number yall set its "people weren't f***ing with the album, it's proof it's bad" but now that drake is likely going to get caught in that same crosshair y'all switching up.
Now they only wanna compare rap albums to rap albums..
but they’re comfortable comparing Dawn FM to Drakes sales.

They’re so hypocritical it’s crazy

I wouldn't take the bait if I were you. All this thread is full of is gaslighting, bad faith arguments, acting obtuse. Everything Drake stans get accused of is what they doing to yall and you can't have an honest discussion with people that project like that because you'll prove them wrong and they deflect or ignore it. No one in their right mind is comparing Kendrick's album to Drake's in sales or quality

It’s funny because a month ago drakes stans were talking like drake could never lose steam sales wise no matter what he dropped now it’s all excuses barely 24 hours in when it looks like he won’t potentially lap the field commercially by over 200k+ like previous releases
UPDATE:
Wait For U is probably half of Futures albums sales so this is a good look for Drake tbh. Think it’s gonna do more than people think.

People have been comparing the Weeknd to Drake though lol. The Weeknd stans used stuff like the success of Blinding Lights + the After Hours era to throw shade at Drake's 2020 where all he did was drop a mixtape of demos/leaks and they were calling the Weeknd the bigger star. That's why Drake stans returned the shade when CLB dropped and Dawn FM flopped. That didn't come outta nowhere lol. Same way Drake stans only threw shade at Kendrick stans who did the most because DAMN. debuted with bigger numbers than More Life and doubled down with clowning DLDT's numbers while insisting Kendrick's next album would do even bigger numbers than DAMN/CLB, only for none of that to end up being true.
Drake is a huge success and bigger than damn near everyone. Drake stans don't need to throw shade at niggas who aren't even close to being as successful but their stans always do the most when their faves see some success and then compare them to Drake/use their success to s*** on Drake but when Drake stans return that energy, they're called bullies lol.

Wait for U is CRAZY STRONG on Apple Music. I'm honestly surprised HN was able to kick it out of the top 10 at all considering it's not a rap album.
