Just because they plaster an artist in your face doesn’t mean they HAVE to do 300K or whatever number you have in your head. That’s not realistic in todays music climate in the slightest.
At the end of the day Jack’s last album did 51K first week and this album is slated to do 120K. That is a HUGE jump especially for someone who has only been in the spotlight for two years.

I'll never understand why yall think like this about the media... as if they're intentionally trying to blow artists up themselves. It's more that the media saw Jack blow up last year & see his fun personality & exploit it for content because it's easy views lol nothing new
same as how so many have exploited Doja Cat/Dua Lipa in the last 2 yrs by just plastering their ass/dancing/interviews everywhere

because it was easy & funny content for them, jack will continue to get those kinda things just because of how he is.
on the other hand you have artists like Sza & Summer Walker who shy away from everything to do with the media and their careers have suffered from it a bit, still both very successful but they'd be doing even better if they exploited the media like Jack does
