Nah TPAB was beloved by critics and hip hop fans but it’s a revisionist narrative to say everyone loved it from the jump. They complained about it not being “assessable” just like this one. It didn’t get the love it deserved from the majority until DAMN dropped. Just like how DAMN is getting it’s flowers now that Mr. Morale dropped.

Even that album was just a 8/10 at most tbh.

The real hot take is that none of Kenny, Drake or Cole dropped a better album than WLR

I didn’t say everyone, my friends and I just loved it and had moments with it on a personal level. I do remember those complaints as well, but it didn’t seem like it was on this scale. Tpab was an album you had to respect to some degree
