its like if u look at that best new artist award drake, mumford and sons, florance and the machine, AND justin bieber lost to her like im not saying her music is bad or she has to be a huge artist but like i interrupted the bar as the grammys be selecting niggas to win off absolute bullshit and people who end up actually changing the world arent the ones that are gonna get awarded, instead people that are put on obama's playlist (fake and paid bs) get rewarded. i think the we never hear from u again is really like brah they gave you new artist of the year and then we literally never heard of u after that meanwhile the other people that all lost all continued to go nuts in the 2010s

Best New Artist has always been a dumb award but it’s not fair on the Academy to expect them to predict how an artist’s career is gonna turn out. Any one of those nominees could’ve fell off after that award show in 2011

They should have an Artist of the Year award, that would make a lot more sense and should factor in things like touring, overall presence, etc.

That song is really just Drake reminiscing on his feelings about events that occured in his past. That's why he kept using the refrain "I remember." He's human. He could have 100% felt like she didn't deserve that award or that the Grammys were shortsighted in giving her that award, especially considering the fact that all the other nominees went on to have a bigger impact and remain more active than her. It doesn't mean he hates her or he dissed her. This is the same man who also spoke out when the Grammys gave Best Rap Song to Hotline Bling.

He's already one of the biggest country acts of all time lol.
