The whole “UMG tried to replace Drake with Kendrick” narrative is so dumb because why didn’t they make him drop more music?

Ed Sheeran is notorious for touring his ass off and his longest-running tour didn't last that long. Even Coldplay's longest-running tour didn't last that long.

It's not even that there's anything necessarily wrong with him being on tour for so long. Ultimately, it's an achievement in its own right. However, it's still something we haven't seen a major mainstream act do in a really long time and so it's immediately noticeable but apparently pointing that out means I'm hating lol.

I don't see a problem with it. If there's still demand to see him perform live and he still has the drive to keep performing, he can just keep adding dates to the tour.

i didn't even know tours could last more than a year. touring a lot is not an issue but releasing multiple albums but still continuing the "same tour" (not really because you're literally adding different albums to the setlist) just to create a record is weird. he's the weeknd. he doesn't need this record for us know his musical impact because his music has always spoken for itself. but maybe i'm nitpicking and this is what popstars are supposed to do and im just starting to notice

Yes, the After Hours til Dawn started in 2022, but there were several extended breaks in between each leg. He did a total of FOUR shows in ALL OF 2024.

He’s actually only been on tour for a collective total of 12 months touring, with a total of 153 shows. This is shorter than:

1. The Eras Tour: A collective total of 14 months touring and 149 shows.

2. Ed Sheeran’s longest tour: A collective total of 22 months touring and 169 shows.

3. Coldplay’s longest tour: A collective total of 25 months touring and 223 shows (sidenote: this tour began in 2022 and is still ongoing, expected to resume in 2027)

I sat next to one of the tour managers on a airplane earlier this year who had to go a few days ahead of a coldplay concert and having a conversation with her where she said she is exhausted as s*** has been going on for ages

She also does this s*** for James Blake as her main tour manager and mentioned DAMN Europe leg was fire and his favorite person to open for.

I mean, it's whatever. Many artists start off a tour and then drop new albums before the tour is done and simply extend the tour to perform their latest songs. Only reason I pointed it out is because dude will legit be on tour for 4+ years when it's all said and done (and that's if he doesn't add more dates before September next year when his tour is scheduled to end). That's a really long time for ANYONE to be on tour and it hasn't happened in a long time.

Coldplay is literally on a tour that started in 2022 and is scheduled to RESUME in 2027

Elton John was on a tour from 2018-2023

He's been milking the After Hours era for a literal half-decade now. It's a smart move to keep it named after his most successful era and the last time the gp connected with his music.

I have to say that Kendrick at 6 is really low all things considered. If Carti had more songs in his back catalog, he probably would stream more than Kendrick in his most successful year
