The kpop industry rolls out new groups the same way Sony or Nintendo would roll out a console

The October takeover was very real. Hopefully we get some new big albums in November.

Baby gearing up, Drake TBD, plus lots rumours about some Pop heavy hitters dropping.

Drake has done more than enough for hip-hop. He carried the game for 15 years. Y'all crowned Kendrick as King last year and the next year, this s*** happens.

This is how you know this dumb gropedivine loser and other clowns do not give a f*** about hip hop and are wishing for its downfall because their favorite foreign rapper raised by a suburban c***who joked about it freeing the slaves and d***rides maga clowns got his ass whooped in a rap battle

GNX and Clipse album came out this past year, by default it’s already better than a lot of years in rap. B****es care too about c***charts over hip hop

94 was arguably goat year in rap and there wasn’t any rap album in top 25 most sold that year

I really don’t mean to offend and I hope nobody gets offended but like “capitalistic morality” if you will, best way I could phrase it, is an American thing

@sab since the other thread got locked. I think it I saw it yesterday on the main page and it remained on my open tabs, tha's why I commented. Maybe the person who bumped it deleted the reply? Or maybe I remember wrong 😅

Never mind, you're right, reviving/necro posting or whatever is called isn't cool.

My bad, I didn't notice it was 3 months old

Was thinking to delete the comment, but you already locked it. Please consider deleting, thanks

From now to early 2026 we’ll be as far from Billie Jean - the most impactful song around that time - as Rolling in the Deep was from Respect/California Dreamin, the most impactful songs from that time

    Makes you think lol

I can remember everything from 1990 to now and I've been trying to make this point for a few years now. Nobody gave a FLYING F*** about the pop chart during the "golden era"

EDIT: He's listing a lot of album cuts.....but sticking strictly to singles:

DMX - Ruff Ryders Anthem (before the posthumous boost)

Nas - If I Ruled The World, Hate Me Now, You Owe Me

De La Soul - Literally EVERYTHING after Me Myself and I

A Tribe Called Quest and Wu-Tang never had a top 40 hit

    Snoop Dogg - B**** Please

Hell, it was happening pretty normally during the blog era too....another celebrated era

Drake winning the beef would not have changed the direction mainstream rap was heading in

Are you niggas crazy like genuinely

Easily could have. I think you’re severely underestimating the impact it had on the genre. Different features on different albums, more features on more albums, etc. Drake working with these guys carried a lot of weight for the genre. Kendrick doesn’t have that power. He trued to continue his run with them carti records and couldn’t help whatsoever. Two Drake features might have genuinely been hits. I don’t think the Drake stimulus is going to happen anymore and thats a big L for the genre imo.

  • Damn. Did Miguel flop?

Drake has done numerous features over the past 18 months and absolutely nothing has stuck. What is your point?

Still Dre peaked only 93 too and it's one of the biggest and most iconic songs of all time lol

I'm glad things turned out the way they did. He needed a reason to stop carrying the rest of the game and never get any credit for it and he finally got one.

People acting like he stopped dropping music. He has 25 flops dropped since the beef.

Also same clowns saying Kendrick winning the bed causing this also don’t think Kendrick won the beef

    It’s closer to 35-40 lol

Shows you a lot about the quality of his music that he has been dropping consistently yet his fans think he’s been absent

Since 2023, he’s given features to:

    • Yeat
    • Sexyy Red
    • Camila Cabello
    • Young Thug
    • Central Cee
    • Smiley
    • Gordo
    • Chino Pacas

    All have flopped

Imagine what a power move it would’ve been if he actually did go silent after Not Like Us

Didn’t give a single feature out

Didn’t do the collab album with Party

    Didn’t drop any Iceman singles

Then the stat about no rap songs in the Top 40 comes out

    More silence

And then finally he returned with NOKIA at the top of 2026

That would’ve been absolutely incredible for him. Like a “nah, the game does need me around for it to thrive”

Instead he’s dropped song after song after song over the past year and a half and basically nothing has stuck

So, EVERY song Drake dropped was supposed to be a hit? Even album tracks? Even 100 Gigs songs that weren't even released on DSPs until much later and were first released free to download and listen to? What a disingenuous post.
