Not initially, but they act like Drake songs don’t get sent to radio at all, if there was a big enough demand to hear Drake on the radio, we would hear more Drake on the radio

the billboard 100 is not there to measure the hottest songs in the country. its main purpose is marketing. radio plays still scale heavily because it lets the industry control what seems popular. this means high quality songs that don't get industry support are less likely to chart high, shortening their lifespan. streaming algorithm also affects this too. the issue is that when the scam becomes too obvious and people start noticing that they don't know or like songs in the top 20, the billboard 100 loses its legitimacy. and thats where we are rn.

I never said it was ever ok to brag about sales. Unlike you I’m actually from the USA and grew up where it was mostly rap being listened to. We never talked about sales.
The only time I ever remember it being a conversation was that ONE time when Kanye and 50 dropped on the same day and they both played into it
