i think Cardi B's label is doing everything in their power to make her look bigger and more relevant than she actually is in 2025. She had her moment when hip hop was the #1 genre, but since 2022 she fell behind
I said that ever since IOP dropped and critics were praising it.
Cardi has one of the most egregious label pushes I've ever seen in a rapper.
It's like the music industry been trying to gaslight us into thinking she's the new Nicki or the new "Queen of Rap" when the average person doesn't take Cardi seriously enough to buy into that.
Without the Atlantic gaslighting, Cardi would've been seen as a bootlegged Trina and a fad but that marketing and media push was something else. You can tell that even the features she chose or were part of were forced af cause what the f*** was up with those Bruno collabs she did.
I always remember that bullshit article that Punch wrote for DJBooth.net that said Cardi B was the Pac of our time back when Invasion of Privacy dropped
Talk about being a prisoner of the moment lmao
Cardi is a bootlegged Trina with less quality music.

Nah this really might be the biggest flop album of the streaming era my goodness
8-year wait and barely anybody tuned in
Three of these albums released before Donald Trump was ever elected President, this genre is in the dirt right now in the mainstream man

Disney put out a watered down remake of Lilo & Stitch and still made bank.
Nintendo is putting premiums on DLC's and porting older games.

I mean not really. Newer music all around is kinda bricking right now. The three highest streamed rap albums daily on Spotify right now are all from pre-2017 (2007, 2011, and 2016)
Like @retro_77 said, nostalgia is on top right now

Literally no one is gonna care, it would only end up being a self own with how terrible Drake current music is doing
