i don't mean this in a rude way, but i wonder how someone with this kind of music palette winds up on this forum.
Started scrobbling in 2020. A lot of the older music I like I still use Youtube playlists for, which includes rock, rap, and more k/pop.
Personally I think the quality of rap fell off a cliff after 2020 so that's why there's so little of it on my fm.
Last FM is their bio so this isn't doxxing but

Midzy is a racist who only likes K-pop lmao

Rap could be outlawed tomorrow and it would still be my primary genre because it’s part of my culture
If how rap performs on the charts dictates how often you listen to it, you don’t actually like rap you just popularity
her pure sales might be insane...

You listen to rap on YouTube playlists so it doesn’t show up on your Spotify wrapped or last FM lmaooo

Rap has only fell off a clip commercially, there’s still so much amazing rap music to listen to, but you wouldn’t be able to find it looking at billboard

Fr, I been saying for years that mainstream rap has been in the dirt this decade, but it’s still my #1 most listened to genre regardless. Midzy just exposed his or herself as only a fan of rap when it’s popular

You saw a list of my top 10 most streamed artists, 5 of which you've probably never heard of and have never touched the billboard charts, and the conclusion you came to is that I only listen to popular music?

He said you only listen to rap that is popular, as in you’re an outsider of the culture that only dabbles in it when it crosses over into your world. He never said you only listen to popular music

We are talking about rap are we not? Obviously rap wasn’t what you grew up in, its just something you stumbled upon and without the charts you have no clue where to look, so in moments like these, where mainstream is being exposed, you just chalk it up to the genre not being good, which is just not true

You posted your Apple Music replay yesterday and it was the most Rap Caviar s*** i've ever seen
These are my most listened to artists of each month this year so far. I really don’t understand why they think I’m a Kendrick stan on here, I barely listen to the guy. It only spiked in May because I went to his tour that month.

Future
Kendrick Lamar
Carti
Travis
Drake
Lil Wayne
Not a single rap artist that debuted post 2020. All popular acts.

Lil Baby, Future, Drake, Kendrick, Carti, Wayne, Clipse, Metro, JID
All of these guys dropped albums within the past year dumbass

Yeah all of them have dropped new albums within the past year stupid f***
Kendrick isn’t even on my s***, because I don’t care about or believe one person needs to carry a genre and a culture
And a bunch of foreigners and white people thinking they know more about rap because of stream numbers will always be hilarious to me.

Extremely well rounded

This is what I'm talking about. Not Fader who pretends to like rap that isn't by immensely popular acts.
I'm glad you like this music, personally I'm just not into it.

And that’s fine with me, I have no issue with you not liking it, it’s when you start trying to convince people whos “running rap” or how a particular album can’t be album of whatever time period because of its streaming numbers
That’s never been how we as a culture have dictated our classics, and never will be
