It’s only big d and there’s video proof
If Kanye and Kendrick both dropped today, Kendrick would obviously sell more and drop the better album so why does that list even matter?
Tbh, an almost 50 year old rapper who's burn many bridges and is semi-blackballed even beating the newer rappers in these stats who are supposed to be the new ringleaders is a horrible sign for mainstream hip hop.
It's 2025, and we got the 2010's Big 3(Drake, Kendrick, Cole) and the 2000's Big 3(Ye, Em, and Wayne) beating the newer rappers in daily streams who are supposed to be the sound for the youth and reflect rap's evolution to the next generation.
The fact that we're even talking about Ye's daily streams like he's some YN who debuted in the Soundcloud era is kinda crazy ngl. Mainstream rap is getting carried by Millennial and Gen X dads and grandfathers lol.

It's only a horrible sign for people who use daily streams as a measuring stick
Means nothing to everyone else

I kind of disagree.
I think it reflects the state of mainstream rap's stagnation and how most newer rappers aren't in a position to "save" rap or carry the mantle after the Big 3 slow down or retire.
And I say that as someone who has many favorite rap albums that had little sales and no hits at all.
As a popular genre though, I would like to see more newer mainstream rappers actually dominate and help usher us into the 2030's. It can't just be Carti lol.
But yes. On a technical level, it doesn't mean much in terms of just the quality of music itself. I do think we're getting to a point where we've accepted rappers under 30 who are supposed to be "up next" flopping more than established vets and legacy acts though which is upside down compared to the past.
Sheeran low key fell off.
In Day 5, Drake’s new single DOG HOUSE loses half of the streams it received in its Day 4 jump, now dropping to #148 on the Global Spotify Chart with 1.2M streams.
The song also falls to #37 on the US Chart with 583K streams.

Imagine if someone drake fans hated were free falling like that

Song was flopping for a few days, had a random spike and then went right back to flopping.
If that happened to any other artist @Blue_Man would’ve been screaming that’s proof of bots

That would've been "concrete proof" for anybody but Drake :

It’s very interesting that the song lost half of its streams overnight. Perhaps Spotify should investigate for potential fraudulent activity?
A sad state of affairs.
so the kpop soundtrack has officially done better than actual kpop acts?
Other than BTS I think so.
Wait wait....
Drake lost 6m IN A DAY??
That's cause Gen Z doesn't really care that much.
They're more likely to cancel someone for being a pedo than a Nazi unironically.
That's why the podcast bro and Twitch streamer crowd is making a bigger deal about Epstein than Kanye.
Millennials who grew up on "the old Kanye" are the most pissed at him. It's Zoomers who come across his classics on Tik Tok/Spotify playlists or are receptive of his newer stuff post Donda who are helping to maintain those streams.
Trust me....I talk to Zoomers all the time. Them niggas don't care about Nazis like that. They'll even make edgy jokes about them. But they really hate pedos though.
Jews dont care either wasnt that hitler song charting in israel lol
but free youngboy and fader said rap isn't dying
Whenever a top rapper drops s***s gonna be real interesting
i am now very sure that spotify/am have completely f***ed over rap with their new algos. i feel like it's why no ones dropping. lil baby delayed his whole new tape
drake v kendrick will be seen as the finale of the world caring about rap

lil baby only managed to break 100k last time because he used that shady website deluxe gimmick that somehow netted him 50k pure sales. i wouldn't be surprised if some rappers are scrambling now that billboard patched it, it was basically the last way for them to boost their numbers without having to sell CDs and vinyls.
basically the golden age of fast food rap seems to be over. you need to have a fanbase that will buy your music or else you're going to flop.

Yeah that and streams are down at least 50% minimum vs a few years ago, I honestly think even as much as 70-80%
