Idk if y’all are just stupid or purposefully twist people’s words but whatever it is is crazy

Its a little bit of both

Every time they say "Didn't you say" it's literally something you never said

I never said longterm means nothing are you insane

I said who cares about the longterm performance of an album that went 5x Platinum in 8 months

Nobody is listening to What Did I Miss anymore

who cares about the long term performance of a single that debutted at #2?

ah yes the song that debutted at #2

Who gives a f*** about a debut when the song is freefalling off the chart

Song is getting the same amount of daily streams right now as LOVE. off DAMN., nobody is listening to that s***

If What Did I Miss? had the biggest streaming debut of all time and went Diamond in a month, then I’d agree with you.

But instead, it failed to reach #1 in a period where the charts are weaker than they’ve ever been in the streaming era, and is currently freefalling its way out of the Hot 100

I never said longterm performance doesn’t matter. What I said is that it’s MOOT for an album like TTPD that put up historic sales figures and broke records in an 8 month period. Learn what context is please

    Oh, like TTPD

TTPD is the longest running #1 album by a female artist ever, and is currently on pace to chart at #8 on this week’s Billboard 200. So no, not like TTPD

  • Sep 3, 2025

Niggas got me defending an artist I don’t even like

You can say whatever you want about Taylor Swift and I’d generally agree with it, but calling that album a “massive flop” is just straight up incorrect

Also, by this logic, you must think that 4x4 by Travis Scott is one of the biggest hits of the year since it debuted at #1, right?

Kendrick has 1 #2 single debut in his entire career
    and 0 #1 debuts

    Weeknd has how many?

What Did I Miss? and Which One are the biggest flop singles Drake has ever released for an album, both them s***s bricked

Using your own logic yes. 4x4 was absolutely huge.

Okay? Cool? I could care less about a debut if it’s out the Top 20 within weeks.

By your logic, Timeless is the biggest hit of The Weeknd’s career since it debuted at #3, right?

It’s not my logic, you just don’t know what context means

I never said longterm performance doesn’t matter. I said it’s irrelevant for an album as successful as TTPD.

It’s having a similar chart run but in a period where the Hot 100 is the weakest it’s been all decade, so no, it is not having a better chart run. Nobody listens to that song

It’s not having a similar chart run at all. Family ties barely peaked in the top 20 and only charted for 19 weeks. WDIM spent multiple weeks in the top 10
Family ties came out during a weak hot 100 era too

you literally called TTPD one of the biggest albums of all time, on the same level as Thriller
