I honestly think you need to be about 16 years old to think BL is even close to the biggest song of this century ngl

Britney & Eminem alone have about 6 songs between them that are bigger

there are over 50 songs currently outstreaming the "biggest song of the last 25 years"

    You’re extremely stupid.

Blinding Lights released in November 2019. It has been on the Global Spotify Chart for a total of 2096 days, and it’s currently at #101. Here are all of the songs that released before November 2019 that are currently above it on that chart, and how many days they’ve spent on the chart in total:

    The Night We Met - 2015 - 1101 days
    Sparks - 2000 - 354 days
    Yellow - 2000 - 1699 days
    Sweater Weather - 2013 - 1828 days
    I Wanna Be Yours - 2013 - 1147 days
    All the Stars - 2018 - 810 days
    Creep - 1993 - 635 days
    Every Breath You Take - 1983 - 1413 days
    Let Down - 1997 - 87 days
    Breakin’ Dishes - 2007 - 151 days
    Dreams - 1977 - 799 days
    In the End - 2000 - 809 days
    The Scientist - 2002 - 517 days
    Viva La Vida - 2008 - 1095
    505 - 2007 - 1332
    Cruel Summer - 2019 - 932 days
    Apocalypse - 2017 - 1112 days
    Another Love - 2013 - 1593 days
    Shape of You - 2017 - 2614 days
    Perfect - 2017 - 2869 days
    Riptide - 2014 - 1657 days
    Rock That Body - 2009 - 87 days
    Feel Good Inc. - 2005 - 238 days

So out of all of these, the only two with more total days on the chart are two huge Ed Sheeran songs that released almost three entire years before Blinding Lights did. The next closest song is Sweater Weather, which released six years before Blinding Lights, but is still 200 days lower than it in total on this chart

Are you genuinely comparing days on chart of a 2000 song vs a 2020 song

BL is basically still new yet people have basically moved on lol.

How have people moved on? 1.4M daily streams is extremely strong for a song that released almost six years ago. You just be hating to hate

Blinding Lights is currently higher on that chart than any Drake song ever released. Has the public moved on from every Drake single ever?

  • Aug 27, 2025

Because in the Weeknd's main markets (USA, UK, Canada) the song isn't even a top 200 streamed song of the day, except in Canada where it's 163rd

S*** owes its popularity to asia lmao. It's so incomparable to all the songs I listed previously. People actually talk about songs like Yellow/Baby One More Time/In Da Club/all those eminem songs constantly. The west moved on from BL a while ago & the song has nothing special about it so I don't see it ever coming back like many songs did

Drake only has 3 lead credit songs on US Spotify right now:

    • NOKIA
    • Headlines
    • Passionfruit

Does that mean the US public has moved on from every other Drake hit? Your logic makes no sense

You just incorrectly predicted that Weeknd couldn’t sell out stadiums in 2022 and he’s been doing it with ease since then, and you’ve had a grudge against the nigga ever since

Drake hits haven't had staying power in a long ass time yeah lol
Although I'd probably bet money that 5 years from now, One Dance will be outstreaming BL daily, definitely in the west

Those artists have songs that everyone has talked about ever sinec they released, 20 years ago

People in the west moved on from BL years ago. Like they've moved on from every song released in the last 10 years. Music lost cultural relevance years ago.

The early 2000s were so much bigger for music than anytime in the last 10-15 years it's not even funny.

No it did not, it’s just more fragmented and splintered off now. Just because the same 10 songs were shoved down our throats on rotation 20 years ago, that doesn’t mean those songs are gonna be the biggest songs of this century for the next 75 years. There are plenty of young Gen Z’ers out there who have never heard a Britney Spears song

Every 20 year old has heard a Britney song lol

You think 20 years from now, people will think about BL at all? Trust me lol they wont whatsoever, no one even now thinks that song is special or unique
