Bro this idea of a song “doing damage” that Drake stans like to use is corny as f***.

It reminds me of the Joe Rogan comedy circle referring to themselves as “murderers” and “assassins”

    Post the receipts then?

Multiple people in remember y’all calling NOKIA a global hit and y’all are still asking for screenshots

I admit, I had very low commercial expectations for this album before it dropped. Just hearing that it'd be an R&B album and especially knowing the style of R&B Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR make, I didn't see a world where they'd drop an album that the masses connected to like this (their immediate fanbase, yes, but the larger listening audience, hell no).

It's already Drake best collab album yet but the album has already matched the commercial performance of Her Loss and might end up being his best-charting collab album yet. Definitely didn't see any of that coming but I'm glad I was wrong about the album.

Imagine typing this whole thing nobody asked for about how an album sold better than you thought it would You just know she was sitting there like this after clicking Post

He definitely said the US streaming numbers of the album would be better as time passed because the music would connect to people as time went on. I remember that.

I said it would stabilize out to a consistent number week after week because that’s usually what pop albums do. It did that for the first few months and then dipped lower, so I can admit I was partially wrong about it.

Can you finally admit you were dead wrong when you called NOKIA a worldwide hit?

    thegreatdivine

Now no one should care about US numbers because the Weeknd's last two albums have flopped generationally in the US. You really can't make this s*** up

Talking like the charts we all discuss in this thread and on this site aren't the US charts

Why wasn't the same thing said during the After Hours era when Blinding Lights and Save Your Tears were dominating?

You post daily Spotify totals almost every other day in here specifically whenever it benefits Drake. Now that one stat doesn’t, you saying it doesn’t matter

Nobody said it was a worldwide hit but they are trying to run with that narrative because their flawed arguments got exposed. Same with Fader now claiming he never said that HUT wasn't a flop yet there were pages after pages of him fighting for his life trying to claim it was a huge success

We got at least 5 people in the thread that have said they vividly remember Divine referring to NOKIA as a worldwide hit, so you’re straight up wrong.

I said HUT’s first week was a success. I never spent any time on here arguing that it wasn’t flopping past its first couple weeks. I’ve literally been calling the album a flop since like March

It's like the US general public completely forgot who The Weeknd is since 2023.
It's like when JT got completely erased in 2017.

I guess the public must’ve had Drake’s existence ripped from their brains then since Timeless spent about 15+ more weeks on the Hot 100 than NOKIA

I don't remember her calling it a worldwide hit. Also, some of the people who claim she made those statements love to spend their time by re-reading 100s of pages to find whatever they are looking for, so how come no one got proof the statement that she allegedly made multiple times?

She might’ve deleted the posts after she realized how wrong she was. Just because YOU remember it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Five different people in here all said they remember her saying it.

I know you Drake stans love a conspiracy theory, but this isn’t one, she said that s*** verbatim. That’s the only reason we clown NOKIA now by sarcastically calling it a global hit, because that was the exact phrasing she used

I fear Fader Magazine might legitimately be mentally challenged. I don't delete my posts. Even the "controversial" ones. Why the f*** would I delete a post of me supposedly calling Nokia a worldwide hit? I wouldn't even know where to look

Anyone saying they remember me calling it a worldwide hit is stupid and if they keep insisting I did, then they should have zero issues finding the post(s) of me saying that.

I never called Nokia a worldwide hit because it simply isn't. Drake hasn't scored a worldwide hit since the late 2010s. All his hits from this decade have done most of their damage in the US. That's never been something for me to be delusional about lmao.

That character likes to lie about things they said/didn't say based on how they feel at that moment in time. It's always amazing to see.

They were on here bragging and gloating when HUT debuted with 490k first week. Basically told all of us who remarked on how poor the album's streaming was and how that was an indicator that it wouldn't have longevity at the top of the charts that we were stupid and that its streaming would eventually rise/stabilise because people were already coming around to loving the songs on the album.

Now, they've changed their arguments to the US charts (the charts we all monitor and make remarks about in this thread) don't matter simply because the Weeknd is no longer a dominant force on those charts.

It's very predictable behaviour from them but it's still incredible to see the flip flop.

Hate it or love it, a lot of global culture runs through the US (and that's coming from someone who is super critical of America). There's a reason why musicians, actors, comedians, all-around entertainers who have already found success in their home countries still come to America for a big break.

There's a reason why many people don't feel like they've truly "made it" till they blow up in America. Trying to act like the US isn't still one of the most important countries in the world (despite the fact that it has a f***ing clown for a President) is being disingenuous. What happens in the US still dictates a lot of what the rest of the world does.

I never said it didn’t. But it’s nowhere near to the same extent that it used to, that’s the point

Example: the biggest American album and artist this year is virtually a no name everywhere outside of the USA
