TikTok isn't the problem. It's been around for a long time. The problem is that nobody is releasing good (pop) music and many big artists dropped in the last 2 years so it's also not a big surprise that they're not dropping anything right now

I admit I don’t listen to as much music as I want to nowadays but it’s because I’m super busy with work & life that I don’t have much time for dedicated listening anymore. But I’ve never once thought in my free time “I’d rather watch some TikTok than listen to new music”

This is just what iv seen by observing friends/family tbh, 5~ years ago there wasn't an app that stole people's attention anywhere near the same as tiktok does
