It should contend for #1 because the charts are weak, yes. But I’ve also already said multiple times that the album has been underperforming post-first week. A movie and a remix isn’t going to drastically change that

He wants you to guarantee a number 1 so bad so he can quote it later for some dopamine

Vinyls should drastically boost an album but not a $20 million budget movie for an album

It’s almost like basically every major album in the history of the music industry had a vinyl release and less than 10 had a theatrical multi-million dollar budget film attached to it

Film audiences =/= music audiences

It’s why soundtrack albums rarely do major numbers unless a star is attached to them. And the “soundtrack” for this film already released three months ago

The album’s performance has absolutely nothing to do with the film. 99.9% of albums don’t have a film attached to them.

Vinyl are a very normal thing for major albums to have, and huge regularly sell big numbers through vinyl copies alone

Film audiences are not music audiences.

A three month old soundtrack is not getting a major boost from a film release.

Most people that see a film do not go home and play songs from the film after it’s done
