I didn't now that
the more you know I guess
I think it was like Rosie Divine or some s*** like that. Saw someone make the connection in another thread
Kendrick got to where he is today and has never chased a hit record once in his entire career. He is good at making hits and very much capable of making hits, but it is not his primary goal as an artist, nor does he ever have to sell himself short to score hit records
Reminder: Fader isn't actually a true kenfolk and argues in bad faith. See this take for example and Kendrick's history of chasing hits and mainstream success

We got a real rapper that actually keeps his ear to the streets and hops on remixes for upcoming artists to blow up vs a rapper that seizes every opportunity to jump on or push a radio single for the masses. For some reason hhh and ktt users get it twisted. I know the former is Canadian and the latter is American but the bias is crazy

Named herself the great Devine because drakes baby mama was named that when she was a booty model/prostitute
Gooner confessions on Easter Sunday

Kendrick and his stans were always jealous of Drake's success
Niggas are not gonna be honest itt
But as a non-Stan of both I find this to be true
And you can tell from this disses in the beef and how Kendrick is rubbing it in the aftermath

honestly this year has been par the course as far as post-pandemic charts go, except for 2024. i don't get why that year was such a big outlier in terms of producing massive, easily recognizable hits. it was easily the best year for the hot 100 since 2019.
i have a theory that maybe americans are just more culturally in tune during election years, but i'm not sure. even nokia's numbers aren't amazing, they're just comparatively better than anything else this year so far lol.

It had Not Like Us, Good Luck Babe, Luther, I Had Some Help and Espresso. Please Please Please as well. It’s not always the market or something broader, sometimes the songs are just stronger, 2024 case in point
Pure songwriting pure songmaking

One is a diss song, in which he isn’t chasing a hit either
Kendrick Lamar has NEVER chased a hit record on a lead artist credit

Drake spent 29 weeks at #1 with 3 solo songs all off the same album in 2018. When Kendrick does that, we'll have that conversation.

Nothing to be done. Charts are what they are. People are dropping songs but most of them aren't sticking and radio is unwilling to let go of some older songs so there you have it.

Drake stans can’t read
Imagine defining an artist’s artistic intentions based on a handful of features they did 10+ years ago
