Most people rarely listen to music alone in their room at all times. Covid isolating everyone really hurt a lot of businesses, clubs, parties, festivals and that directly caused a huge dip in music streams not to mention other options like podcasts and movie streaming services got a huge boost by taking some audience. People listened or watch those for 2 hours over streaming albums. It's well documented and a big reason why 2020 and 2021 albums fell flat but there was already a steady decrease in sales happening for years
