kendrick has boxed himself into being the deep, intellectual rapper who always has something profound to say about society even though he's clearly tired of it at this point. i wish he would have used DAMN. as a cue to move onto something more fulfilling, that album was already about how he has too much personal baggage to be someone worth looking up to. instead he waited five years to make an album with the same message except more boring, overly long, and not as well put together.

what's wild is HDD numbers aren't even official. they generally overestimate, even in their final projections, due to their formula being "less accurate" when it comes to predicting Billboard's final numbers, which is the industry standard.. so it may be lower than 286k especially since they've been overestimating a lot of projections recently
