People saying Spotify is trying to f*** over Drake are f***ing dumb, he's the most streamed artist on Spotify too with over 100 million streams. Spotify makes money with him. They will never blackball him in any way

Being objective, a lot of the Spotify blacklist accusations are baseless or don’t hold much weight as of current.

However one thing I do find legitimately shady is why his one song on Today’s Top Hits isn’t even top 10 on the playlist. “Somebody Loves Me” is #13

He is the biggest artist on the platform in history, every album drop usually has a song that’s directly like #1 or top 3 on the playlist just off that.

Same if Taylor, Bad Bunny, etc drop because they’re top artists.

Sabrina is placed directly #1 with a deluxe re-release song before any numbers came in. But you mean to tell me Drake releasing a new album entirely doesn’t merit top 10 placement?…

This isn't on Spotify, it's more on UMG because they're paying money to promote their artists. I guess they didn't gave enough money this time.

More misinformation. I will include songs that are past 450M since they will reach 500M sometime very soon this year.

All 2020s Weeknd songs with 500M+ streams on Spotify:

    1. Blinding Lights
    2. Save Your Tears
    3. Save Your Tears Remix
    4. One of the Girls
    5. Creepin’
    6. After Hours
    7. Die For You Remix
    8. Heartless
    9. Moth to a Flame
    10. Popular
    11. In Your Eyes
    12. You Right
    13. Is There Someone Else?
    14. One Right Now
    15. Timeless
    16. Out of Time
    17. LA FAMA
    18. Smile (493M)
    19. Take My Breath (482M)

Excluding Hurry Up Tomorrow since it just came out, The Weeknd in the 2020s decade has released:

    • 2 studio albums
    • 1 soundtrack album that was split into numerous EPs
    • 1 standalone single
    • a handful of features

All 2020s Drake songs with 500M+ streams on Spotify:

    1. Life is Good
    2. Jimmy Cooks
    3. Toosie Slide
    4. Laugh Now Cry Later
    5. WAIT FOR U
    6. Fair Trade
    7. Rich Flex
    8. Wants and Needs
    9. Chicago Freestyle
    10. Knife Talk
    11. POPSTAR
    12. Way 2 Sexy
    13. GREECE
    14. Rich Baby Daddy
    15. Girls Want Girls
    16. IDGAF

Excluding $$$4U since it just came out, Drake in the 2020s has released:

    • 3 solo studio albums
    • 1 mixtape
    • 1 collab studio album
    • 1 EP
    • numerous standalone singles
    • a vast amount of features

Including like 5 Weeknd songs that came out before 2020 is so hilarious man

at least try to hide your bias

Lets include God's Plan, One Dance and all the others too then

UMG tells them songs they’d like playlist focus on, but I think the placements themselves mostly come down to Spotify’s own choice.

If it was as simple as paying then you’d see plenty of random artists put at #1

end of the day im not into the consipracy theories either im just saying the discrepancy between AM and spotify right now ive never seen before on any drake album (its normally 60/40 in favour of AM, some albums were 55/45)

its so bad that if u tried to predict his first week sales solely off spotify numbers you would be getting a 120-130k first week, thats how imbalanced it is towards AM to allow from to do 230k off streaming units alone

Wasn't Somebody Loves Me at #3 first in that playlist?

then why was there no banner, no tweet?

they've doine that for every other drake album ever

they're clearly trying to stunt the popularity of the album by not promoting it like they normally do

No you’re likely referring to another playlist, cause it’s been out the top 10 since the second the album dropped.

I think Occam's razor tell us that less listeners on Spotify are interested in listening to a new Drake album at this time

Lock this thread and ban every user if they really think Spotify is trying to blackball their most streamed artist

I'm not completely dismissing these claims of Spotify numbers looking funny. I can see where the concerns are. Homie sued the company and clocked in for work, so there's reason to think there's foul play. I've seen nothing but promo on Spotify this whole week so idk

They're trying to come with these claims because his streams are slowly going down but it already started with FATD

Many of them were released in previous years, tht's my point

Drake had many songs still popping in 2020/2021 that were released prior, counting them is stupid

The only one you can really call 2019 releases are Blinding Lights and Heartless, but even then they released right at the end of 2019 and were on a 2020 album. Blinding Lights also did not become a hit until 2020.

    Save Your Tears (2020)
    Save Your Tears Remix (2021)
    One of the Girls (2023)

    Is There Someone Else? (2022)

    Out of Time (2022)
    LA FAMA (2021/2022)

I would not be surprised if the US makes up like 70% of AM users worldwide if Apple ever released such a stat let me know
I am the only AM user anywhere I am
