You were saying anyone was stupid/crazy for considering his modern releases R&B, then when I point out he himself markets them as such and pushes the narrative, now it’s “forget what he thinks”.

Bottom line, Weeknd appeals to plenty of R&B/Hip-Hop listeners just as much as a Beyonce, Rihanna, or SZA who also do Pop and other genres.

He’s not just a solely Pop appealing artist like he’s Shawn Mendes or Camila Cabello.

If Drake making music outside his Rap genre isn’t a valid excuse for lesser appeal, then Weeknd making Pop music isn’t a valid excuse for not putting up huge streaming openings like some R&B/Hip-Hop names.
