If Kendrick usually does 300-400k with every rap album but then released a hard rock album that does 100k, would you consider that a fair comparison to the rest of his discography performance-wise? The same thing happened with Wayne when he dropped Rebirth. Carter 3 did 1M first week (2008) and Carter 4 did 964k first week (2011), but Rebirth (a rock album) dropped in 2010 and did 176k.

Do you think he magically lost most of his fans in 2010 and magically regained them back in 2011 or did most of his fans not show up to support Rebirth because it was a rock album and they are used to him rapping instead?

Terrible example. All of Wayne’s non-Carter albums sold significantly lower than Tha Carter series.

People don’t really care about a Wayne album unless it’s a Carter entry

you believe kendrick has more white fans than drake?

Percentage wise from their own fanbases...

I overheard a white dude tryna mack on a black girl from US outside of a club in Barcelona this summer. In the line. Telling her "I really f*** with Kendrick over Drake". She said like "oh, word". Could tell she wasnt feeling that or him.

    Anyway.

fader: "most R&B artists don't stream well, that's why the Weeknd's albums always flop on streaming in week 1! Yes, he's the second biggest artist in the world but don't compare him with other artists he's supposedly bigger than but who somehow perform better than he does!"

also fader: "y'all are using $$$4U being an R&B album as an excuse for its performance. One of the highestselling albums of the decade is an R&B album."

    Make it make sense.

Can we dead the narrative that this album “was for women”?

All of music history has shown when women gravitate to something, it is absolutely OUTTA HERE numbers wise.

This party and drake album is currently Scaring the hoes 😭😭😭

I was gonna say this feels like the first male R&B album made for a male audience lmao

Making any music with PartyNextDoor, one of the worst artists across any medium in human history, is a poor decision

fader understands that R&B albums don't typically stream well when it's time to defend the Weeknd's streaming numbers but his common sense goes out the window and he acts shocked when Drake drops an R&B album and it doesn't stream as well as his rap albums. You can't make this s*** up

Pop* artist. Weeknd hasn’t been an R&B artist for over 7 years

    Try again

I have never claimed that The Weeknd was making R&B. I specifically always say he is a pop artist now. Try again!

Lmao this has been the case for longer than that. Drake fans clowned Kendrick so hard for IYRTITL outselling TPAB. Then Damn outsold More Life and Drake fans insisted it didn’t count because More Life was a “playlist”
