That was a solo Drake album and it had 2 rap songs that carried almost 50% of its total streams lmao.

And Drake has already said there will be some hype/upbeat songs on the record. Why are you assuming it’s 45 minutes of slow R&B music?

This is exactly why #1 is very subjective. When NLU came out, chart was at all time strongest with multiple songs over 500 for weeks and weeks.

Any one of those songs could have had a long run in almost any other time frame.

Most of drake #2s this decade too have actually higher peaks than his #1s funny enough. I’d argue that his #2s are more popular than his #1s this decade. Context is definitely important

There being upbeat songs doesn't mean they won't be R&B songs. All his R&B songs are flops and not all of them are slow.

Drake is using the exact same marketing he’s used for his last three albums: Instagram posts and hyping it up at concerts

Drake’s fanbase is well aware that the album is releasing tomorrow night, I don’t see how PARTYNEXTDOOR being the first artist listed would deter most of Drake’s fans from tuning in at least once

Drakes fan base is fragmented. There will be a huge group of fans that are not interested in his r&b songs and PND especially. That’s why he usually is all over the place in albums like CLB, More Life, and Views with trying to please each fan

I believe that’s always been rule. Regardless, it doesn’t even matter since only 1 copy per customer counts. It’s cringe seeing some of these folks spend $50 on digital copies, knowing that only 1 of them will count

Nah I don’t think the download thing is a rule. How would Billboard even track that?

Eh, I agree with them. Drake is washed and over so let them save all their commercial expectations for the new #1 guy.

She said 100-150k. 100k is way too low I agree. 150k is low too but not totally outrageous imo. Let’s see how many tracks get confirmed too as that’ll play a huge part in this as well

I think anything less than 175K would be a flop.

I understand that Party is billed as the first artist, but Drake’s fanbase is well aware that this project is dropping, I don’t think that a good enough excuse to suggest that most of his fanbase wouldn’t tune in simply because Party’s name is credited first

Saying Drake is washed and over and projecting 100k is hilarious

S***s gonna sell 200k+ and TGD gonna celebrate it like a huge victory and proclaim Drake king the action plan is clear as day

Only a small subset of his fans will give a f*** about this album. And it'll flop like crazy once week 2 arrives.

At least, Honestly, Nevermind had Jimmy Cooks to carry it. We'll see what this one has.

All my projections are blind right now because I haven't heard the album. I'll adjust my projections after I hear the album.

Wap, Taylor Swift, even his own songs lol. W&N was bigger than what’s next and Knife Talk was bigger than W2S. IDGAF/RBD and FPS/SYO too. Seems like he pushes the wrong songs nowadays lol

Okay, and what if there are two rap-leaning songs on the record? You act like these two are incapable of making a song together like that
