Is he rapping or singing on Redemption? Redemption, Weston Road Flows and Views are bigger than Controlla and Too Good?

Actually think before you start with them sassy questions you b**** ass nigga

If we’re labeling an album’s genre based on its’ biggest song then I guess Hurry Up Tomorrow is a rap album

Even greatdivine is telling you niggas it’s at the very least also a pop album. Like I know y’all are not trying to say it’s a straight up or mainly a rap album

Ok but one second I don't get this on some real talk. Yall will be in here cooking greatdivine and being annoyed at her usually for minor s***, and then yelling at Drake fans like "how do you agree with her?!" But then like right now when she makes her points yall will be like "see even greatdivine says this!" Like she's the ring leader of the Stan club or something?

Not saying I agree or disagree, and I have no problem with sis or her opinion whatsoever, but why do yall take what one person says and then attribute it to all drake fans? and then some proceed to cook TGD any time she expresses a contrary opinion in a differing post? 🤣 Like make it make sense if stupidity annoys you lmaoo.

If you think views is a pop album than whatever but tgd isn't the union leader for drake fans brother. Don't attribute one persons opinion as representing that of the whole and we can alll have decent convos. And stop being mad you just need some snickers fam

    Lmaoooo

The only somewhat legit reason to look at views as mainly a “RAP ALBUM” is cause Drake was already known as mainly a rapper. Anything else is bs, it’s for all intents and purposes mainly a pop album

Oh please with this fader half the tracklist is literally pop music and the nigga used pop songs to hype the album up. If it ISNT a pop album at all then if for damn sure isn’t a rap one either

Let’s break down all the genres on Views, track-by-track:

    1. Keep the Family Close - R&B/Ballad
    2. 9 - Rap
    3. U With Me? - R&B
    4. Feel No Ways - Pop
    5. Hype - Rap
    6. Weston Road Flows - Rap
    7. Redemption - R&B
    8. With You - Pop
    9. Faithful - R&B
    10. Still Here - Rap
    11. Controlla - Dancehall
    12. One Dance - Afrobeats
    13. Grammys - Rap
    14. Childs Play - Pop
    15. Pop Style - Rap
    16. Too Good - Dancehall
    17. Summers Over Interlude - R&B
    18. Fire & Desire - R&B
    19. Views - Rap
    20. Hotline Bling - Pop

    In summary:

    Rap: 7/20
    R&B: 6/20
    Pop: 4/20
    Dancehall: 2/20
    Afrobeats: 1/20

Are we seriously gonna call an album that’s mostly Rap/R&B a pop album because 20% of its’ songs are pop cuts?

Now Views is a pop album. Y’all got it.

    It is lol

The biggest songs on that album are pop sounding songs, Views is what crossed Drake over to pop music in the first place

The biggest songs on an album are not what determines the album’s genre, first of all.

And second of all, out of the three biggest songs on the album, only one is a pop song: Hotline Bling. One Dance is an Afrobeats song and Controlla is dancehall.

Why we discussing views as a pop album?

Are we trying to downplay Weeknd doing numbers because last time I checked Starboy came out the same year and is way bigger than Views even with Views doing 3x FW.

Also they always swear up and down in here that only Drake’s rap music sells the best, but they’re now trying to move the goalpost again by calling his biggest album a pop album

    Make it make sense

why are y’all talking about an album that dropped nearly a decade ago in the sales thread? Who brought this up?

I said that pop music and rap music stream differently first week; rap is much more dominant when it comes to first week streams.

Divine tried to refute this by bringing up the fact that Views, a pop album according to her, did 275M streams first week back in 2016.

Ffs stop arguing with Drake fans

Weeknd albums have never streamed or sold well first

They stand the test of time

Drake is a hype artist. He hasn't had a stable hit since before 2020 lol

Drake's albums don't stand the test of time?

That’s why I said pop sounding because their are a mix of genres on that album

Regardless, Views is not a traditional rap album

Lol. You dont even believe this.

Which one has? Genuine question. I’m happy to be proven wrong:

More Life - Fake Love and passionfruiy the only real hits
Scorpion - Yeah it had hits, but who’s spoken about those hits post 2020? Nothing has really stayed
DLDT - fair enough no promo (his best out this bunch)
CLB - underrated, but again, who’s gone back to this?
HNVM - 21 savage ft was the only ‘hit’
Her Loss - had its short run
FATD - i ain’t ever seen no one talk about this mid
