"quadra" of all people suddenly cares about Christmas music charting
This lets me know you have 0 reading comprehension m
My argument was based on the most popular music that week charting
Not it specifically being of the Christmas variety

Here is a Christmas chart from 2004. Not a Christmas song in sight. It’s just showing me the songs that were actually popular during that time. The way it should be. billboard.com/charts/hot-100/2004-12-25

This is where y’all kinda don’t get it: the Christmas songs ARE the actual popular songs. Ironically those are the songs most of America truly wants to hear. That wasn’t reflected in the charts in the past because listener habits weren’t as represented

do the charts not show what’s popular now?

Yes and no. Sure they’re the most “popular songs” right now, but it’s only because of the holiday; it’s not really reflective of what are organically the most popular songs of the year are as the year comes to a close.
I really feel like they should just make a Holiday Chart and track it like that

The charts never show what is completely popular. If they did we would have a bunch of old songs taking over the bottom of the chart right now. We don’t because there are rules that make them go away.
I don’t know. Just seems weird we have the same Christmas songs taking over the chart every year instead of recent songs that are currently popular.
Maybe oh boy will win December?

Sorry
There's no fairytale land where we need to separate Christmas music
