The argument that having a lot of songs automatically means you'll garner the most streams is so silly and stupid lol. Chris Brown and Future have released more songs and projects than Drake and they're nowhere close to having the kind of back catalog activity he has. Someone like Billie Eilish only has 4 projects to her name but her back catalog numbers are outta here.
It all boils down to have a catalog of music that people care to keep going back to. It's really that simple.
Earlier in Drake's career, it was always talks of his music being microwave music that didn't last and they used the fact that he remained consistent as proof that his music had zero lasting-power and that's why he had to keep dropping every year to keep people interested.
Only for us to find out that was all bullshit as he has a catalog that people keep revisiting, and not just his hit songs. Now, you've got folks trying to use that as a sort of dig at him again. And these are the same idiots who'll brag to you about the longevity of GKMC/DAMN
They don't know which narrative they wanna employ
They didn't. He didn't sell any physicals of Scorpion the week the album dropped.
While Scorpion launches with over three times as many streams as Views tallied in its first week (745.9 million vs. 245.9 million), Views was able to earn a bigger overall unit number (1.04 million) because it had a much more robust bow in terms of traditional album sales. Views sold 851,000 albums in its first week, all from digital downloads. (The CD didn’t go on sale until its second week of availability). Comparatively, Scorpion sold 160,000 copies, all via digital download. Scorpion will be issued on CD on July 13.

This makes your point look even worse.
Scorpion did 160K in pure sales in 2018
FATD did 10K in pure sales in 2023
And you think his fans are gonna buy physical copies?
Drake fans don’t spend a dollar on that nigga anymore unless it’s a tour ticket

Bruh imagine rooting for a colonizer who put literal neo nazis in his music video and mocked slavery over someone who is product of the culture.
I guess it’s the product of commercialization of rap to a point where we got people rooting for Post Malones of the world to beat someone from the culture. I’ll never understand this.

Very clearly isn't.
isn’t it the best selling song in the US this year?
Dude it’ll be a massive lost opportunity if they don’t go all out for this track. It’s literally rising on Apple Music still
It’s funny how this thread shifted from focusing on US sales to global sales, lol
People will always pivot to whatever supports their agenda
