Nice way to flip a fact that kendrick hit his peak with DAMN and never returned. You could’ve said that drake hit his peak in 2016-2018 and those were the outlier years.

No, Kendrick’s entire career has been about 300K in first week sales besides the ONE outlier in DAMN.

As opposed to Drake, who had a steady rise from Thank Me Later to Views, and has been steadily and slowly declining in first week sales ever since then

DAMN. came out at an interesting time where streaming was starting to blow up, but pure sales were still very strong. Cole sold 500k around this time.

You can argue that Kendrick is in his prime rn since NLU is one of the biggest rap songs of all time, won the most prolific beef since Pac Vs Biggie, headlining the Super Bowl, 3 #1 songs on the Hot 100, etc.

First week sales aren’t the only measurement for success.

Also this. Rap fans need to get out of the mindset over first week sales being more important than anything else.

I guarantee that GNX will be the best selling rap album of 2025, assuming that Kendrick doesn’t drop again next year

cope. its dog s*** numbers for an artist who just supposedly had a bigger year than drake

    • biggest rap beef of all time
    • biggest streaming year of his entire career
    • broke records for the biggest song in terms of streaming which Gods Plan once held
    • rick ross fat as s***
    • superbowl announcement
    • white elitist publications doing interviews
    • meat munchers the entire year talking about kendricks new album gonna shake the game
    • ASAP Rocky.

he just did Mr Morale numbers, on a year like this.

2 factors that COULDA HAVE caused this let down:

    1. Single/diss songs were actually botted and the streams didnt equal real demand

    OR

    2. The album was a let down and NEUTRAL fans didnt even bother listening to it.

    Stfu p****...

Why are you still trying to purport the idea that Tyler is anywhere near Kendrick?

because in this argument, he literally is? lol

    this has gotta be racist

I hate to give into the spreadsheet stereotype but since @fader and @Kr0niic are accusing me of lying about Chromakopia out streaming GNX so here's both of their Spotify numbers as proof.

dont let them gas light u bro

they tryna compare tylers Tuesday (2nd day) to kenny's 2nd day (Saturday)

Tyler had very strong streaming numbers for an artist who is never really talked about as the big 3, had barely any hype going into it, and just released GOOD music that the masses ended up enjoying

CLB and Take Care had 18k difference in fw sales even though they were released 10 years apart. Where as FATD and Her Loss are all very near Thank Me Later in the same department.

    Wrong and wrong.

The Weeknd’s first week sales have went up and down his entire career.

And Kendrick’s sales have been pretty consistent his entire career, DAMN. was the only outlier.

Drake is the one who’s first week sales consistently dwindled since 2017

What are you talking about? The Weeknd hasn't sold dawn fm type numers since 2013 lol.

    Kiss Land (2013) 95k
    BBTM 412k
    Starboy 348k (-16%)
    AH 444k (+27%)
    Dawn FM 148k (-66%)

where is the "up and down" his whole career lol?

DAMN being the outlier where he blew up to mainstream success btw, in the time where pures were still huge, so that's exactly how it sold so many.

Its literally 99.99% artist whos first week sales have dwindled. Kendrick, Cole, Bieber, Ariana, Weeknd, everyone except trav/taylor

even adele went from 3.3m to 800k lol

    Yes.

    If you could read.

I clearly said he went up from TML to Views, and it’s been a slow decline from Views to now

That same progression does not exist for Kendrick, whose first week sales have been pretty consistent his entire career with the exception of one album

Travis Scott sells pures in his sleep, digital downloads included.

Even Kendrick still does like 30-40K in digital downloads, FATD did 10K in digital downloads
