Drake also didn't have the benefit of just winning a beef against the #1 rapper in the world and having the world praising him without end.

Last Drake album to drop with physicals was Nothing Was the Same, so all this talk about Kendrick not doing massive numbers because he didn't drop with physicals is cope as far as I'm concerned.

Why is Flowers the only song in the top 10 most streamed songs in a single day of all time with 0 outside context to support its hype? The other songs include:

• Christmas anthems
• Tortured Poets Department debut songs
• Adele’s super hyped comeback single

This gotta come down to songwriting. Then there’s its top five biggest streaming song of all time placement…there’s something special with the composition of this song amongst the people. And you can’t even chalk it up to artist bias, not like it’s a Taylor or Drake level streaming artist song. What’s happening with this one?

Nothing went #1 cause Kendrick got blocked by Jack Harlow lmao. It also debuted 2 songs in the top 5 and four in the top 10. So I don’t think you can say it is much more popular. The chart was just much stronger at that particular time than it is right now.

The difference is Drake is the king of streaming. Kendrick is not, and never has been.

Drake has completely abandoned pure sales and primed his audience to consume his music exclusively through streaming.
