A real global smash hit by a real global superstar.

Dude has the craziest stimulus ever. But ofc, nobody’s melodies are as consistently strong as his and I’m not even into him

I’m pretty sure they are much, much, much lower for all artists.

The highest streamed song on there as of May 2023 was Shape of You, and only had 930 million plays worldwide.

They probably don’t release them publicly because it would make the user base seem way smaller than Spotify’s (which it is, but you don’t wanna vocalize that as a company)

Your insecurity is showing. Bruno returned after 3 years off and has dropped back to back global smash hits. Can't say the same for UnAble.

It's okay to be wrong. You can't ever count out Bruno.

I love how he has surpassed Drake on the global stage but has never had a single year where he was more consumed than Drake globally (and no, don't come in here trying to make a point of pretending the US isn't a part of the world to make a case for The Weeknd being bigger globally).

That’s great for Bruno. I love his music.

You tryna make me sound like a hater and it’s not working

Bruno Mars being a global megastar doesn’t negate The Weeknd being one as well

The US is the third largest country in the world by population.

Drake being more popular than Weeknd here as well as being big globally obviously would make his global total bigger since the global total includes US numbers.

Weeknd is bigger everywhere else on the planet.

It’s really not a hard concept to understand.

And actually, The Weeknd did out-stream Drake globally in 2023, and did that without a new album out. He’s also on pace to out-stream him again in 2024.

Alright, I'll humour you and agree that the Weeknd is bigger than Drake everywhere else but the US (in truth, Drake is bigger than the Weeknd in the UK and Canada and even Australia but let's ignore reality for a second).

If that's the case but Drake is still bigger than the Weeknd only using his US numbers and the US is a part of the world then Drake is still bigger than the Weeknd globally.

Drake made $320M off a single tour while only playing shows in North America. The Weeknd can't do that.

And no, Spotify isn't the only streaming service. The Weeknd has never been more consumed than Drake in the US or globally in any given year.

I know you hate it whenever I post this but facts are facts:

Point me to the year where The Weeknd was ever ranked higher than Drake and I'll shut up.

Drake did $350 million off 80 shows and sold 1.3 million tickets. Weeknd’s NA leg did $148 million off 19 shows and sold 1.0 million tickets. The box office difference doesn’t mean anything other than the fact that Drake’s tickets cost more money on average.

Y’all keep boasting about that total and all you’re doing is supporting price gouging.

Weeknd is bigger than Drake everywhere else on planet Earth outside of the US. That IFPI total you probably study religiously includes US numbers, which I keep explaining to you is irrelevant to the argument I’m making.

Your argument is stupid and that's my point. As long as the US remains a part of the world, Drake will remain bigger than the Weeknd globally. I don't know what's so hard to understand.

I don't care about your unsubstantiated take about the Weeknd being bigger than Drake everywhere else outside the US because you can't prove it but when I provide numbers and data that backs up Drake being a bigger than artist globally while considering ALL markets, you dismiss it because it doesn't support your argument.

Anyone with common sense can see how stupid your argument is.

You don’t have an ounce of critical thinking do you.

I’ll dumb it down for you:

The Weeknd is bigger everywhere on the planet combined that does not include the United States of America.
