remember tho, that chart is a show of the popular albums

so that album went from the most popular of last week, to not even a top 200 album this week. classic

Meanwhile when you look at the top singles, they spent the same amounts of week at number one as other years, maybe even more cause more artists topped the chart longer than other years, but I guess consumption and competition was low whatever man

Have you managed to find any 18 month periods where there were 4+ songs with 69+ weeks yet btw? I'l give anyone $10 if they can find a period because I'm super curious

Glass Animals having 91 weeks, 1 less week than Grenade by Bruno + Uptown Funk by Bruno combined (92) is just completely wrong to me

No, Billboard's rules are just stupid.

The only reason it went #1 was because the vinyl orders from the first week finally shipped. All of the sales came from the orders placed during the first week.

It's not Travis's fault that Billboard has dumb rules regarding shipping

There are 20 year old albums still on the bb200 that had enough demand in the streaming era that people switched from listening to it physically to listening to it digitally on DSP’s still on the bb200

If there was real demand niggas would stream it, plain and simple

Give me your logic on how this stipulation matters at all.

    Ill give you mine.

Lets take one of the many 20 year old albums still on the bb200.
Released in a physical era only. Pre itunes. Pre computers. 90’s to early 2000’s.

copped the cd or tape, played it infinitely off that one copy (same as playing a “10 year old mixtape off SoundCloud infinitely”).

Now fast forward to 2024, over 20 years later, after listening to the album probably 100+ times cus back then most people aint have it like that to be buying all these $14.99 cd’s so they would cop their favourites snd stick to those, they still choose to make the switch to streaming, and continue to listen to it on streaming 20 years later even after rinsing the album on physicals for decades. And streaming it enough to still be on the bb200 20 years later.

Thats called active consumer decisions making when it comes to selecting a product. You what we call that in marketing? Inherent demand

Are you comparing some of the most iconic and celebrated albums of all time with… Days Before Rodeo?
