My point was that during covid, songs lasted longer in the top 100 because less big artists were barely dropping music

The pandemic didn't truly "end" until very late early 2021 (even early 2022)

Weeknd was not the only major artist to drop during this period, and Blinding Lights is in a league of its' own when it comes to commercial success.

If it was purely a result of the pandemic, there would've been at least one other song to duplicate its' success.

Also I know you didn't just sit there and calculate the average of 500 different songs bro

2021: 2 platinums albums; 12 gold albums
2022: 4 platinum albums; 8 gold albums
2023: 2 platinum albums; 8 gold albums

Anyway the facts show that I'm right if you look at the billboard numbers. There were way more songs at 30+ weeks in 2020/2021 than ever before

Noo I said that Blinding Lights Billboard record was a lot easier for it to achieve, because it released during covid, a time where barely anyone was dropping music, so it had way less competition than normal. Songs like God's Plan/thank u, next barely lasted on hot100 in 2018 because the competition was crazy. Big artists were dropping twice a month. Genuinely don't know how you can disagree w/ that lol, those covid times were very dry
