Idk why Weeknd’s music doesn’t seem to work anymore for Billboard charts considering how popular he is and how streamed he is on Spotify…

I really loved Dancing In The Flames’ version that was premiered at the Sao Paulo show with the piano intro, but the studio version is terrible (mixing wise and like the vocoder lines sounds way cornier in studio vs live). Music video was some real succ compared to Heartless’ & Take My Breath’s videos that were really cool. I know that these two factors are not the sole reason why the song didn’t resonate with general audience (maybe they just don’t like it lmao).

It’s just weird that he seems to put an accent about what his legacy is for this last album in the trilogy, but it doesn’t feel like he’s giving his all yet.

One of the Girls & Popular were HUGE, but they didn’t chart that well iirc… Truly been a weird couple years for him

this Timeless song with Carti has also been ruined in the studio version, heard the leak last night and theyve taken a lot of the energy out

unless they fix it before release (doubt it) ive changed my mind from a few pages ago. it'll flop even worse than dancing in the flames

also feels like a carti ft weeknd song, not a weeknd song. he's gonna scare the hoes away w this one

the leak I heard was 100% not ai lol it's a full cdq of the song, but it does say its a version from last december, but it sounds very finished

regardless over a minute of carti is scaring his fanbase away, thinking otherwise is insane

To me its obvious He stopped making the unique dark r&B and hip-hop adjacent music he used to make, now since after hrs its more like attempts at pop hits but those songs dont hold a fanbase like that anymore
So the streams are more reliant on his past hits rather than people listening to the whole album alot like for other artists
