Weeknd doing bigger venues in Toronto

Drake has always been to afraid to do Stadium tours because he is afraid he can't do numbers globally there and he is afraid he can't perform in stadium as he is an average performer and performing in stadium for rappers is hard.

Here are their numbers a month apart from less than a year ago in toronto:

    Weekend 2 shows: 87,101 / 87,101 $10,231,250
    Drake 2 shows: 34,290 / 34,290 (100%) $6,644,203

It's not always about the most streams. Globally weekend is bigger.

Also all you clowns who never go to concerts/travel globally can't talk. Stop seeing hip hop and rnb as anime/fantasy football bs,

The conclusion they’re gonna make from this is that Drake is bigger because his tickets cost more on average so that means the demand is higher

Drake told you all this? Nice to know.

And judging by the numbers you posted, if Drake had sold 80k+ tickets, he'd have made at least $15M. 5M more than the Weeknd did.

    Exactly what I said

It’s so weird now that we’re determining an artist’s popularity based on how much money they make or could’ve potentially made.

“Millionaire A made $5M more than Millionaire B, Millionaire A is definitely more popular!”

    Y’all sound deranged

Check Spotify artist charts, it's much closer than you think in Europe, with Drake taking the lead in a lot of countries

asia/mexico is where The Weeknd dominates

& as such Drake probably makes 10x more money from his music than The Weeknd. Those indonesia streams are worthless

Do artists get paid less based on where their music is streamed from?

EDit: I checked it does. Lol 8 indonesia streams is one us stream.

All you do is move the goalposts. None of these words have anything to do with what you originally said about After Hours not being a good measure of popularity because it was successful longterm

Ofc you say tha after saying something dumb & not being able to worm out of it lool

& yeah I'll never believe a superstar doing 2m first year at the peak of their success is a big success lol, when you have artists like SZA/Morgan/Taylor doing 4m+

I think the same for Drake btw, he has flopped w/ like 3-4 albums in a row, thegreatdivine will bite my head off for this tho

This is insane. You know good and well that when someone says "globally" they're referring to other parts of the planet outside of the artist's home country. It's really not that hard to understand.

Drake is more popular in North America.

The Weeknd is more popular everywhere else

everywhere else except Canada, UK, and NA. yes. lol

I don't agree that any of his albums have flopped, especially when they're always the most successful releases in rap period. I don't judge the entire of an artist's career on their peak period. 2016-2018 was Drake's commercial peak but he's still by far the biggest name in rap.

This is Nicki Minaj level logic lol.

Abel's albums and hits are generally bigger globally than Drake's albums and hits and they're not too far off in the U.S. either considering all of his Diamond singles.

Not too far off in the US? Drake did 10m units in 2023, the weeknd did 3.9m

in fact lets look at the actual facts again sinec you guys are incredibly delusional

Because it’s a fact. I went to his concert in Amsterdam I’m not a hater. It’s just a simple fact that the weeknd his songs get way more traction in Europe than drake his songs. Only thing I will give drake he is a bigger celebrity but not in terms of music compared to the weeknd.

Except I proved to you multiple times Drake is bigger than The Weeknd in your country lmao.

    Hurry Up Lefkol

Last time I heard a drake song in public here in Amsterdam was with views. Not even hating or lying. His albums don’t have longevity neither replay value. When was the last time the guy had an organic hit in Europe with replay value.. one dance?

    charts.spotify.com/charts/view/artist-nl-daily/2024-09-01

Someone should tell the people who actually live in your country that then. Since he's pulling more streams than THe Weeknd every day lmao

Perhaps you should go to school and learn how supply and demand works then?

Even Nav could sell out a stadium in Toronto if his tickets were $1.

    Drake at 553m

Bro said stop seeing hiphop as fantasy football bs then is saying that bigger tour = more popular artist lol

damn i guess U2 are more popular than billie eillish, ariana grande, drake and kendrick. someone PLEASE inform the hoes

dumb argument anyway, The Weeknd has barely grown popularity wise in Europe since 2017, which was his last arena tour, same year as Drake's. Drake's was much bigger even whilst charging more per ticket.

Drake had to do 9 shows in London because of the demand on that tour btw lol, in the same venue The Weeknd had two shows at. he's just scared of it performance wise

Once Dance spent 15 weeks as #1 in the UK
    Blinding Lights 8 weeks

    Drake has 6 #1s, 45 top 10s
    Weeknd has 1 #1, 16 top 10s

but yeah you guys are right, Weeknd is bigger
